La cofradía de Nuestra Señora del Rosario de Luanco: una hermandad marinera asturiana

RESUMEN: En el presente artículo hemos estudiado la cofradía del Rosario de Luanco a lo largo de su historia. Ésta fue la hermandad del gremio de mareantes y por ello la cofradía más trascendental de la villa. Luanco experimentó un gran crecimiento en la Edad Moderna, construyendo además su nuevo templo parroquial. Hemos enmarcado la hermandad dentro de las cofradías homónimas hispanas, promovidas por la Orden de Predicadores. Después hemos analizado aspectos fundamentales de la hermandad como son: su composición social, reglamentos y funcionamiento, características devocionales, además de analizar sus cuentas y bienes.

ABSTRACT: In this article we study the confratenity of the Rosary of Luanco (Asturias, in the North of Spain) throughout its history; which was the brotherhood of the guild of the sea, and as a result, the most important confraternity of the village. Luanco experienced a large growth during the Modern Ages, constructing in addition its new parochial church. After having introduced the Spanish confraternities of the Rosary, which were extended by the Order of Preachers, we have analyzed fundamental aspects of the confraternity, such as: social composition, rules and their functioning, devotional characteristics and we have made an analysis of the accounts and properties.
