ABSTRACT: This is the continuation of the previous article published in AD XXX (2009) 145-204 regarding the presence of the Confraternity of the Most Holy Name of Jesus in the old convent of San Jacinto in Caracas and its relationship with the birth and development of the devotion to Jesus Nazarene in the city of Santiago León de Caracas. The news about this Confraternity are very few, although we can see its growth in the presence of the Titular of his Confraternity in the Dominican conventual church.
On the other hand, in what way is the popular devotion in Caracas to the image of Jesus Nazarene increased? The convent has a certain implication in supporting such devotion, at last until 1812. This devotion can still be seen, although transferred to the popular image of Jesus Nazarene of Saint Paul. Letter and information from the bishop Baños y Sotomayor as well as the Letters addressed to the King by Gobernor Berroterán are attached.
Key words: Confraternity, popular devotion, blasphemy, Letters, Information.
