ABSTRACT. During the last phase of the Spanish period, the reform policies of ihe Bourbons, enforced by the bishops of Tucumán in the monastery of Santa Catalina de Córdoba del Tucumán, was strongly influenced as a result of the social and economic poseer of the Dominical monastery. The repressive approach implemented mainly by the Bishop Angel Mariano Moscoso, generated a silent resistance from the nuns who ended up producing the eviction of the liquidator appointed by him and the ultimate failure of the reform measures he had ordcred. Situation that in the end was very linked to the eternal struggle of factions in the capital city of Tucumán.
