Una Cofradía singular de frailes y monjas: La Hermandad de Jesús Nazareno y conmiseración de las Ánimas benditas de Sevilla.

RESUMEN. La Hermandad de Jesús Nazareno y Ánimas Benditas de Sevilla es una singular corporación de ánimas fundada e integrada por frailes y monjas de la Orden de Predicadores en la ciudad de Sevilla y algunas poblaciones próximas. Su vida transcurre durante los siglos XVIII y XIX en su sede principal, que es el convento de Santa María de Gracia de la capital hispalense. Constituye un interesante ejemplo de cómo el esquema de la religiosidad popular barroca y el instituto laical de las cofradías de ánimas se integra en el marco de una orden religiosa, los Dominicos, a modo de un asociacionismo espiritual y devocional de sufragios.
ABSTRACT. The Brotherhood of Jesus of Nazareth and Holy Souls in Seville is a unique corporation founded and integrated souls by friars and nuns of the Order of Preachers in the cite of Seville and some nearby towns. His life takes place during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries in its headquarters, which is the convent of Santa Maria de Gracia of Seville. It is an interesting example of how the scheme of popular piety and the lay institute baroque uf the brotherhoods of souls is integrated as part of a religious orden, the Dominicans, by way of a spiritual and devotional associations prayers for the dead.
