Resumen: La primera etapa de los dominicos en Paraguay abarca desde 1621 hasta 1824. Este trabajo quiere brindar un primer acercamiento a los 297 documentos encontrados hasta el momento en diversos archivos eclesiásticos y civiles rioplatenses sobre la Familia dominicana (frailes y laicos) en dichas tierras y periodo, y que también se encuentran fotocopiados, junto a una selecta bibliografía al respecto, en el Fondo Proyecto fray Esteban Martínez, OP., conservado en Valencia.
Abstract: The firts stage of the presence of the Dominican friars in Paraguay it is from 1621 to 1824. This work wants to offer a first approach to 297 documents found until the moment in diverse ecclesiastical and civil Archives from the River Plate about the Dominican family (friars and lays) in these land in this period. All of them are photocopies and it is included and select bibliography about this subject. All this are in the Fondo del Proyecto fray Esteban Martínez, OP, conserved in Valencia (Spain).
