Actas de un Capítulo provincial de finales del siglo XIV
Abstract
ABSTRACT: In first place, the author makes a detailed analysis of the contents of this manuscript fragment of an Act of the Chapter of the Province of Spain of the Order of Preachers. He goes on to give a very close date of the mentioned Chapter at the end of the fourteenth century. We find the biggest difficult when we do not find Acts of the Chapters of the said Province in these years of decadence because of the famous “claustra” or relaxation of religious life after the devastating “black plague.” With the successes of the reform inside the monasteries and priories throughout the fifteenth century, these Acts of the Chapters of the fourteenth century and some others of the fifteenth century were forgotten or neglected and others even were destroyed.
Key words: Dominican Province of Spain, XIVth Century, Acts of the Provincial Chapter.
