Las cofradías misionales del Rosario en Nápoles durante el siglo XVII
Abstract
RESUMEN. En este artículo se estudia el primer gran momento de la popularización del Rosario en Europa a comienzos del siglo XVII y en el ámbito de las misiones que la Orden de Predicadores desarrolla en la ciudad de Nápoles, especialmente entre la población más marginal. La gran innovación del “rosario a coros”, el nuevo modelo de cofradía surgido en las misiones y la creación de una cotidianidad en torno a la devoción son los pilares que hacen de Nápoles una referencia rosariana y un antecedente clarísimo de lo que será eclosión de los rosarios públicos de Sevilla. Palabras clave: Rosario, Dominicos, Nápoles, Fray Miguel de Torres, Fray Calixto de Missanello. ABSTRACT. This article studies the first great moment of the popularization of the Rosary in Europe at the beginning of the 17th century and in the scope of the missions that the Order of Preachers develops in the city of Naples, especially among the most marginal population. The great innovation of the “rosary in choirs”, the new model of brotherhood that emerged in the missions and the creation of a daily life around devotion are the pillars that make Naples a Rosarian reference and a very clear antecedent of what will be hatching of the public rosaries of Seville.
