Abstract

Abstract. The old Confraternity of the Rosary of Salamanca, which is rooted in the Hospital del Rosario founded in the fourteenth century, is linked organically to the Order of Preachers and their settlement in the Convent of San Esteban in the city of Tormes. About five centuries contemplate this brotherhood, parent of many others that were founded in the Salamanca diocese, mainly in the eighteenth century. Various mishaps have accompanied the history of the brotherhood and extensive experience over time has led him moments of splendor and crisis, putting it on occasion even on the verge of disappearance. A first approach to its long history casts some light, but also many shadows even for playing.
