Cofradías y Hermandades en el entorno devocional dominicano almeriense durante el Antiguo Régimen
Abstract
RESUMEN: Este trabajo hace un exhaustivo estudio sobre el desarrollo de las devociones al Dulce Nombre de Jesús y a la Virgen del Rosario a lo largo del Antiguo Régimen. El estudio subraya la importancia de los dominicos en la extensión de sus cultos y los matices de singularidad que desde los inicios de su introducción tuvieron debido a la guerra contra los nazaríes, primero, y la guerra de los moriscos, después, en un ámbito territorial especial como son las tierras fronterizas con el Norte de África. Palabras clave: Almería, Rosario, Dulce Nombre, Dominicos, Contrareforma ABSTRACT: This paper shows the result of a thorough study of the evolution of the devotions of the Most Holy Name of Jesus and Our Lady of the Rosary throughout the Ancien Régime. On the one hand, it highlights the important role played by the Dominican Order or the Order of Preachers in the spread of the aforementioned worships. On the other hand, it spotlights the distinctive introduction of these devotions into the unique area which borders North Africa since the war against the Nasrids and the one against the Moorish took place there.
