The Dominicans monastery of the Reginaceli de Zafra convent: between poverty, defenselessness and abandonment.
Abstract
The convent of the Dominicans of Reginaceli de Zafra was an institution whose existence was excessively scourged by the vicissitudes of life. The wars with Portugal deprived him of his assets, the patronage that sustained his community was poor, the aid of the duke of Feria and the benefactors were short and sporadic. His community had to go through all kinds of hardships and face numerous vicissitudes until the con-fiscation ended its existence.
