Los dominicos de San Pablo el Real de Córdoba y la cofradía de San Pedro Mártir de Verona en el siglo XVII
Abstract
RESUMEN: El trabajo aborda el estudio de la trayectoria histórica de la cofradía de San Pedro Mártir de Verona durante el siglo XVII y su estrecha vinculación con los dominicos del influyente convento de San Pablo el Real de la capital cordobesa. Integrada exclusivamente por los ministros y familiares del Santo Oficio, esta hermandad se define por su carácter corporativista y elitismo social. Sin embargo, la fiesta anual en honor de la imagen titular goza de una gran popularidad. Las danzas participantes en la procesión despiertan bastante expectación, cuyos miembros pertenecen a grupos marginados como los gitanos. ABSTRACT: This work involves the study of the historical trajectory of Saint Peter of Verona during 17th century and its narrow linkage with the Dominicans from the influential convent of Saint Paul the Royal in Cordoba. This Brotherhood integrated by the officers of the Holy Office, is defined by its corporate character and social elitism. However, the annual festivity in honor of the image has a great popularity. The dances participants on the procession shows an awakening expectation, whose members belong to marginal groups such as gypsies.
