Abstract: Like other religious order, Dominicans foster the devotion to his blessed and saints, highlighting along the Modern Age the figure of St. Hyacinth of Poland. This phenomenal has special relevance in Cordova, thanks to the work carried out by the convent of San Pablo el Real. The city celebrates the canonization with solemn festivals in 1595, and from the end of the 16th century until the beginning of the 18th the popularity reached by this saint accurately mirrored in indicators such as the petition of masses and the alms given by the devoted. Additionally, the testimony of the onomastics through baptim´s books of the parishes and the dedication of the hospital for incurable poors to St. Hyacinth endorse the fervor of the inhabitants of Cordova to this saint.
