La Librería del dominico fray Diego Ramírez, prior del convento madrileño de Santo Tomás (1658)
Abstract
RESUMEN: Fray Diego Ramírez fue un ilustre dominico y prior del convento madrileño de Santo Tomás a mediados del siglo XVII. Poseedor de una notable biblioteca (librería), que en el año 1658 fue comprada por el propio convento madrileño en la elevada cantidad de 15.625 reales. La Biblioteca contenía obras de la antigüedad clásica romana pasando por obras de historia, geografía, vidas de santos y sobre todo de temática religiosa que iba desde los primeros Padres de la Iglesia como Orígenes hasta las de fray Hortensio Paravicino. ASTRACT: Fray Diego Ramírez was a distinguished Dominican and Prior of the convent of St. Thomas of Madrid in the middle of the XVII Century. He possesses a remarkable library that was bought by his own monastery of Madrid in the high quantity of 15.625 reals. His personal library contained Works of the classic Roman antiquity, history, geography, lives of saints and especially Works on a varied religious themes from the firts Church Parents, as Origine, up to those of the celebrated Trinitarian preacher and poet of the Golden Century fray Hortensio Paravicino.
