La Orden Tercera de Santo Domingo en Jerez de la Frontera a fines del siglo XVIII
Abstract
RESUMEN. Este artículo estudia la trayectoria histórica de la Orden Tercera de Santo Domingo en Jerez de la Frontera (España) durante la época moderna, pero, al mismo tiempo establece de manera previa un amplio estado de la cuestión sobre los orígenes y primer desarrollo histórico de esta institución laical de la Orden de Predicadores, así como algunas referencias a su realidad en España e Hispanoamérica durante los siglos XVI al XVIII. ABSTRACT: This article studies the historical trajectory of the Third Order of Santo Domingo in Jerez de la Frontera (Spain) during the modern era, but at the same time establishes a prior state of the question on the origins and first historical development of this lay institution of the Order of Preachers, as well as some references to their reality in Spain and Spanish America during the sixteenth to eighteenth centuries.
