Resumen: Tobaruela era una villa de señorío fundada a mediados del siglo XV y que se mantuvo independiente hasta que en el año 1872 fue incorporada a la cercana ciudad de Linares. La parroquia rural de Santo Domingo de Guzmán, se erigió a finales del siglo XV mediante un decreto del dominico fray Diego de Deza, obispo de Jaén. Su extinción canónica definitiva fue decretada en 1994, pero desde mediados del siglo XX ya venía funcionando como una simple iglesia rural. Durante sus casi 500 años de historia ha pasado por múltiples vicisitudes y por una época de relativo esplendor en el siglo XIX.

Abstract: Tobaruela was a villa of dominion founded in the middle of the 15th century and that was kept independent until in the year 1872 it was incorporated into the nearby city of Linares. The rural parish of Guzmán's Santo Domingo, there was raised at the end of the 15th century by means of a Monk's decree Diego de Deza, bishop of Jaen who concerned to the Preachers' Order. His canonical definitive extinction was decreed in 1994, but from middle of the 20th century already it was coming working as a simple rural church. For his almost 500 years of history it has happened for multiple vicissitudes and in an epoch of relative brilliance in the 19th century.
