El patrimonio arquitectónico del pueblo desaparecido de Pochutla (Chiapas)
Abstract
RESUMEN: En este artículo se compulsan aspectos históricos y materiales de lo que fue el pueblo de chiapanecas en Pochutla (Chiapas, México) y la fundación dominica adscrita a la Provincia de San Vicente Ferrer de Chiapa y Guatemala. El objetivo es poner en valor los vestigios arquitectónicos de lo que fue su iglesia y convento con revestimiento de esgrafiado, en relación a otros pares en Chiapas. Así, en este campo particularmente contribuir al conocimiento de las experiencias constructivas legadas por los dominicos y los habitantes en uno de los diecisiete pueblos desaparecidos en la zona denominada Depresión General de Chiapas. Con estas páginas se persigue dejar memoria escrita y crear conciencia sobre la conservación de un patrimonio cultural en riesgo de perderse. ABSTRACT: In this article we analyzed the historical and material aspects of the extinct chiapanecas town in Pochutla (Chiapas, Mx.) and the Dominican foundation attached to the Province of S. Vicente Ferrer of Chiapa y Guatemala. The goal is to recognize the architectural remains´s value of the covered "sgraffito" of what was the church and convent in relation whit other convents of Chiapas. Therefore, with this work we are trying to the acknowledge of the constructive experiences bequeathed by Dominican and residents in one of the seventeen extinct villages in the area called "Depresión Central de Chiapas". This paper seeks to leave a written memory and to raise public awareness about the need of conservation of a cultural heritage at risk of being lost.
