La devoción y culto a Santo Domingo en las fraternidades de su Orden Tercera de penitencia durante la época moderna. El caso de Andalucía
Abstract
RESUMEN: En este breve artículo quiero referirme concretamente al culto y devoción carismática al santo patriarca entre los terciarios españoles a lo largo de la época moderna, especialmente en el periodo de tiempo desde que se establecen como hermandades o fraternidades a fines del siglo XVII hasta el siglo XIX. Nos vamos a centrar en algunos casos concretos de Andalucía: Sevilla, Écija, Osuna, Cádiz, Jerez de la Frontera, Antequera y Granada, cuyas hermandades de la Tercera Orden gozaron de gran predicamento y fueron así mismo referencia para otras de localidades vecinas. ABSTRACT. In this brief article I want to refer specifically to the cult and charismatic devotion to the patriarch saint among Spanish tertiaries throughout modern times, especially in the period of time since they were established as brotherhoods or fraternities in the late 17th century to the 19th century. . We are going to focus on some specific cases in Andalusia: Seville, Écija, Cádiz, Jerez de la Frontera, Antequera and Granada, whose Third Order brotherhoods enjoyed great prestige and were also a reference for other neighboring towns.
