Se sopesan los anhelos espirituales y políticos de los cuerpos rectores y sujetos sociales en el ámbito público y en el recinto sagrado. Palabras clave: México, santo Domingo, patronazgo, Soriano, fiesta, novena.
ABSTRACT. Key points are recovered from the patronage of Santo Domingo de Guzmán, one of the 12 patron saints of Mexico City. The demonstrations that the City Hall, prelates and members of the regular Institute provided to honor the Patriarch of the Order of Preachers redoubled the insertion of his devotion into the social fabric, during the colonial period and his survival in independent Mexico. The spiritual and political longings of governing bodies and social subjects in the public sphere and in the sacred place are considered. Keywords: Liturgical celebrations worshippining in honour of St. Dominic in the City of Mexico.
